Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VET-ROC)

The Veterans Resource and Outreach Center is the one-stop shop for all things related to the veteran and military-connected community on campus.

VET-ROC staff support student veterans as they reintegrate back into the civilian world and tackle their higher educational goals.

As part of the Student Affairs Division, the Veterans Resource and Outreach Center is available to all military-connected students, including active duty, veteran, Reservist, National Guard, spouse or dependents. It is our mission to build a supportive and inclusive experience for all visitors to our office.

Veterans Crisis Line

If you're a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, there are caring, qualified VA responders standing by to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Veterans Crisis Line.

Veteran Peer Mentors

VET-ROC houses Veteran Peer Mentors, who are trained in military behavioral health and personally understand the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the challenges of reintegrating into civilian society.

Veteran Peer Mentors are made possible through the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Program of Rensselaer County.

Armed Forces Club

The Armed Forces Club provides a means for people within Hudson Valley Community College to support the efforts of veterans and military personnel from all branches of the Armed Forces. Club members include student veterans, active duty service members, reservists, spouses and dependents.

Common Campus Resources for Military-Connected Students

Counseling and Wellness Services staff are available to help you with your mental, emotional, behavioral and interpersonal functioning, so that you can effectively achieve academic success.

Center for Access and Assistive Technology staff work to assist all qualified students with disabilities in the pursuit of their educational objectives. The center strives to coordinate the students' needs with services and resources available within the college system, and works to ensure accessible educational opportunities are available for students according to their individual needs.

Center for Careers and Transfer staff is ready to assist you with your career and transfer goals as well as provide you with assistance in searching for employment opportunities.
