Aid and Scholarships
Below are scholarship and aid options for military affiliated students.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to a VA School Certifying Official in the Registrar’s Office.
Federal and State Financial Aid
Depending on your VA benefits, you might be eligible for additional assistance through Federal and State Aid. The VA Benefits with Financial Aid (PDF) outlines some of the various scenarios. If you are still not able to find an answer, please feel free to reach out to a VA School Certifying Official in the Registrar’s Office.
You can Apply for Financial Aid by completing a FASFA and New York State TAP application. If you have questions about the financial aid application process, contact a member of our Financial Aid Office.
Recruitment Incentive & Retention Program (RIRP)
The Recruitment Incentive & Retention Program (RIRP) is a New York State program designed to recruit and retain members for the State Military Forces (Army, Air National Guard and Naval Militia). This competitive program will pay the cost of tuition up to SUNY tuition rates per semester. Please contact your appropriate Education Service Representative to determine eligibility.
If you are eligible, please contact the Cashier's Office to request a RIRP Deferral. You will need to pay for any fees when the RIRP deferral is signed.
