Advanced Studio in Acrylics

Are you ready to take your painting journey to the next level? If so, this one-day intensive workshop will expand your painting practice in novel ways! We will tackle three entirely different paintings using distinctive methods and do a deep dive into complimentary colors, glazing, and tried-and-true brushwork techniques. All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself and an open mind. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a full refund.

Intermediate Sewing

In this class, you’ll learn how to make a lined tote bag with pockets, a zipper pocket inside, a zipper or snap closure, and handles. If you have not yet mastered zippers, you will love this class, and go home with something that you can truly use or give as a gift! Participants should bring a sewing machine, extension cord, manual, thread that compliments your fabric choices, scissors, seam ripper, straight pins or clips, two fabric choices for the outside of the bag, fabric for lining, and two zippers (one nine-inch zipper for the inside pocket, and one 18-inch zipper for the top of the bag). Fabric choices should be cottons, cotton canvas, or duck canvas, in solids and/or prints. You will need one yard each of your outside fabrics (two yards total) and one yard of lining.

Introduction to Jewelry Making

 

Love jewelry? How about dragonflies? Come and make some custom jewelry for yourself or as a present in this hands-on course, which introduces students to the basics of jewelry making by creating dragonfly earrings and a necklace. The class will cover a range of techniques, and no prior experience is required. There will be kits in various colors and extra colored beads available to create your own color palette, and earring back choices include sterling silver hooks, posts, and lever backs. The instructor will demonstrate the techniques step by step, then lead the class through. All materials and necessary tools are provided. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a full refund.

Mug & Slate Coaster Painting

Sewing for Beginners Level 2

If you are totally new to sewing, the Sewing for Beginners class is a prerequisite for this class. We will build on your beginner skills to make a simple project.
