April Showers Bring May Flowers

There is no better way to show someone you care than to send them a card you have made by hand. In each one of these classes, we will be creating three cards that will delight and impress their recipients, based on different themes. Come create with some amazing colors, images, techniques and folds designed for both the new and experienced stamper. Be sure to bring your own sharp scissors and double-sided adhesive to each class. Those younger than 14 must be accompanied by a class-registered adult. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a refund.

Day and evening classes will create the same cards.

Basic Watercolor

Join us to discover your own unique ways of using transparent watercolor paint, from free experimentation to more controlled approaches. Explore mixing and layering colors, while observing flowers, still life, and landscape. Learn color theory, pencil sketching, composition, drawing directly with a brush, and planning area of wash. Everyone is welcome, both first-time and longtime painters. Please bring whatever materials you may already have, or purchase the following supplies: a pan set of transparent watercolors; a pointed round watercolor brush (approximately size 6; handle will be shorter than an oil painting brush); a 9” x 12” pad of 140# watercolor paper; masking tape; pencil; two water containers; and two pieces of cardboard (slightly larger than size of paper).

Beaded Ball Point Pens

In this class, you will choose from a variety of natural gemstone, glass, and ceramic beads to create a beaded stem for your colorful ballpoint pen. You’ll also learn about the properties of the gemstones so you can choose stones meant for luck, healing, motivation, or just straight up beauty! Bracelet cuffs are available if you prefer not to do a pen. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a full refund.

Dot Mandala Paint a Journal Cover

Join us for a creative session in dot mandala art, where you’ll learn the techniques of this beautiful and meditative painting style. In this class, students will paint the faux leather cover of a lined journal with a decorative mandala—perfect for inspiring you while you work toward your New Year’s resolution to keep a daily journal! No prior experience is needed. We’ll guide you step by step through the process, from tool selection and paint application to color placement and pattern creation. By the end of the class, you’ll have a journal with a beautiful hand-painted mandala and the skills to continue dot mandala painting on your own. Dot Mandals

Join MaryMargaret from Dots4Days in a hands-on dot mandala painting class. Participants will transform a plain wooden photo frame into a work of art! Using techniques unique to dot mandala creation, participants will learn about surface preparation, dot art tools, paint selection, symmetry and balance, all while appreciating the meditative properties of this ancient art form. Participants will be provided with everything they need: a detailed instruction book they can keep to continue their artistic practice at home, a wood frame, dot art tools, paint, and step-by-step group instruction with individual attention. Come paint with us and make something beautiful. No past painting experience necessary. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a full refund.

Exfoliating Gardner's Soap

Learn how to make gentle exfoliating gardener’s soap using a goat milk soap base with different exfoliating items and essential oils. This soap is great for cleaning your hands after working in the yard or garden. Students will take home four bars of soap, along with the recipe. Felting Your Own Art Vessel

This class is an introduction to wet felting with a resist. Wet felting is a physical process that involves the wetting and pressing of wool fibers to create an entirely new piece of fiber. Wet felting on a resist allows for making 3D sculptural pieces, and the results are always stunning! Learn about the basics of wet felting and the layout of wool, embellishments and more to create a beautiful, unique piece of art. Students will need to bring an old bath towel to this class. Students who have to withdraw must do so at least one week prior to the start of the course for a full refund.

Lotion Bars

Learn how to make solid lotion bars using natural butters and oils, and scent them with essential oils. These easy-to-use bars look like soap but melt gently in your hand. Art in Mind is a wellness studio that emphasizes the powerful effects that art has on the soul. Students must withdraw five business days before the start of the course for a full refund.

Mixed Media Embroidery

Mixed media embroidery is an art form that combines traditional embroidery with a variety of other materials, techniques, and artistic media, such as fabric, paint, collage, beads, and even non-traditional objects, to create unique textures, visual interest, and dimension. This technique allows artists to move beyond conventional embroidery by integrating different fabrics, threads, and found objects to express personal stories and break boundaries, offering a broad spectrum of creative possibilities. In this class we will make one piece together as a group and then you are welcome to use supplies to create your own additional design if there is time. Paint & Resin Charcuterie Board

Join us at Art in Mind Studio for a unique class painting and pouring resin to create a beautiful food-safe tabletop board! First, you will be walked through painting lemons on an 18” x 12” high quality real wood charcuterie board. Second, you will learn to pour resin for your piece. Please be aware that your piece will have to stay with us for at least 24 hours to cure. All supplies included. No experience necessary.

Sewing for Beginners

If you are totally new to sewing, the Sewing for Beginners class is a prerequisite for this class. We will build on your beginner skills to make a simple project.
