This degree is for those who want to start a career as a certified public school teacher in grades 7-12. By completing courses in the liberal arts, education and an academic concentration of your choice, you will be able to transfer to a four-year program that leads to New York State teacher certification in Adolescent Education.

You can pursue coursework that will prepare you for transfer and certification in the areas of English, History/Social Studies, Math, Biology, Earth Science and Physics.

The majority of students graduating from this program continue their education at a four-year college or university. The program follows the SUNY Teacher Education Transfer Template (TETT), which provides a smooth transfer to a SUNY four-year institution.

Throughout the Spring 2023 semester, students in the Liberal Arts & Sciences - Adolescent Education (Teacher Education Transfer) program could be found at the HVCC & Questar III STEM High School on Wednesday and Thursday mornings where they’ve gained teaching experience.
