Student and professor working on a computerThis program helps students build the skills they need to pass the National Work Readiness Credential (WRC) exam. The EOC offers at the program and exam at no cost for those who qualify.

Students develop skills in:

  • Communication and Writing
    • Communication with co-workers and supervisors
    • Teamwork
    • Supplying information, directions, forms, and charts in a written form
  • Math
    • Solving problems
    • Fractions, decimals and percentages
    • Measurements and formulas
    • Trends and predictions - graphs and data
  • Reading
    • Reading for a purpose
    • Finding what you need in charts and forms
    • Following directions
    • Reading reports and manuals
  • Computer skills
    • Develop basic computer navigation skills
    • Practice online test taking skills

Students who successfully complete all four tests on the exam receive a nationally recognized certification that demonstrates to prospective employers that they have the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful entry-level worker.

Program Requirements

Students must meet program entrance criteria in reading and math. Those who need additional skills to qualify may consider other skill building programs offered at the EOC.
