Alternative Testing Agreement

Students using the Center for Access & Assistive Technology (CAAT) testing accommodations are expected to follow these policies:

Scheduling Your Exam

• Schedule exams through the CAAT Portal at least three weekdays before the exam during CAAT testing center hours:
  • Regular Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Fridays: Closed
• Schedule exams during your regularly scheduled class time whenever possible, allowing enough time to complete the exam before the testing center closes.
  • An exam may not overlap with another scheduled class.
• If CAAT cannot accommodate a late exam request, students must make testing arrangements with their instructor.
  • Final Exam Week: Exam requests will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on the Friday before Finals Week.

Changes to Your Test Request

• Notify both CAAT and your instructor as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an exam.
• Missed exams may only be rescheduled with authorization from the instructor.

Testing Expectations

• Arrive on time. Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may be denied testing by CAAT staff or the notified instructor.
• Personal belongings, cell phones, smartwatches, and unauthorized materials are not permitted in the testing room unless approved by the instructor.
• Once an exam begins, it must be completed during that testing session in the assigned testing location (CAAT office or classroom) unless otherwise approved by the instructor.
• CAAT may interrupt or reschedule testing due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

Failure to follow these policies may result in the loss of CAAT testing services or testing privileges. Students are expected to maintain academic integrity and comply with HVCC policies.
