Program Effectiveness Data, Goals and Outcomes
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography certificate program has been highly successful in preparing students for credentialing examinations.
Program Goals
To prepare competent entry-level general sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains for the following concentrations: abdominal sonography - extended; and obstetrics and gynecology sonography.
Program Outcomes
- To demonstrate the technical skills necessary for an entry-level position in Ultrasound.
- To perform the skills involved in their specialty areas and the profession of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- To demonstrate proper discretion, judgment and professional conduct in the performance of medical imaging procedures.
- To conduct oneself with high standards of professionalism, patient care, and maintain high educational standards.
- To effectively interact and communicate with patients, members of the healthcare team and the public.
