Ready to continue your education at Hudson Valley? Follow these steps to apply and prepare for enrollment.

Steps to Enroll as a Transfer Student

1. Explore Your Program

Start by exploring Hudson Valley's degree and certificate programs and finding the option that meets your academic and career goals.

Admission requirements may vary by program. Some programs have additional requirements or deadlines, so review the requirements for your intended program before applying. General entrance requirements, special admission requirements and individual program prerequisites are available through the College Catalog.

2. Apply to Hudson Valley

Most transfer students may apply for admission throughout the year on a rolling basis.

Complete an Admissions Application

3. Submit Your Official Transcripts

Official transcripts are required as part of the admissions and transfer credit process.

Official transcripts can be mailed to the Admissions Office or sent electronically through a password protected delivery system (i.e. parchment, e-script, etc.) to admissions@hvcc.edu.
NOTE: If you are using StraighterLine or another online course provider, have your transcript sent directly to admissions@hvcc.edu. Do not include yourself as a recipient.

4. Complete Any Additional Admission Requirements

Depending on your academic background and intended program, you may be asked to complete additional admission requirements or academic placement testing.

5. Meet With Your Academic Advisor

Connect with your academic advisor to discuss your academic goals, previous coursework and course scheduling.

Your advisor can also help you understand how your previous coursework may fit into your Hudson Valley program.

If you meet with a SOAR advisor, no additional action is needed to begin the transfer credit evaluation process. If you meet with another academic advisor, you and your advisor will complete a Transfer Credit Form together.

6. Complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation Process

Hudson Valley will evaluate your previous coursework to determine which eligible credits may apply toward your program.

You may be asked to provide course syllabi or detailed topic outlines if additional information is needed to evaluate a course.
