Babysitting Skills

Be the babysitter all the kids want! Campers will learn basic childcare techniques and safety skills, and create a variety of activities to use while babysitting. Campers will make a bag and fill it with fun projects and games to take along while babysitting. Course fee includes $40 materials fee.

Candy Making

In this camp, we will learn the basics of chocolate candy making, from tempering the chocolate to pouring into molds. This class will give you the knowledge and techniques to make melt-in-your-mouth chocolates. Course fee includes $40 materials fee.

Circus Theatricks

SIX weeks of circus!  
We are pleased to have Sean (Seano) Fagan back at Hudson Valley Community College this summer for Circus Theatricks. Whether you’ve experienced fun with Seano in the past or you’re new to the circus world, this class is for you. 

Beginning campers will be introduced to the art of juggling, tumbling, acrobatics, magic, and the secrets and skills of circus clowns. Returning campers, get ready to be challenged and further your skills in the circus arts.

The instructional component of Circus Theatricks camps will run from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a half hour for lunch each day.

Our counseling staff will provide supervision of participants from 8 - 9 a.m. and 3 - 4 p.m. each day for those students who arrive early and stay late. Students should bring their own lunch and snack each day. Refrigeration is not available.

Cooking with Gabby

Students of all ages will learn basic and tasty recipes that they will prep and cook in camp. We will create our own cookbooks so the students can take these recipes home to share with their families!  Course fee includes $40 materials fee.

Crafts Around the World

Take a trip around the world this summer through creative expression. Each session, we will focus on a different country, such as India, China or Thailand, and create a craft that represents it. Course fee includes $10 materials fee.

Cyber Spies

With the world’s increased reliance on digital data, cybersecurity is more important than ever! In this class, you are all that stands between a group of international hackers launching cyber attacks and world peace. Through a series of challenges, students will learn to apply tools used by professional digital forensics teams to crack codes and use encryption. Working in teams, you will collect clues, recover lost data, and explore the tools of the trade to become the next great cyber spy! Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Roblox Coders

Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in Roblox®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox® Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with their own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Scrapbooking Spectacular

Capture important memories for all to enjoy! Each participant will leave with a beautiful custom-made book of photo memories. Many techniques will be shared to enhance photographs, including using different supplies, templates, stickers, journaling boxes, ribbon, borders, punches, and embellishments. Slime Time!

In this camp, we’ll learn how to make up to 20 different kinds of slime! Students will learn how to make magnetic slime, bubbling slime, chalkboard slime and more! They will also get to bring home a slime mat, and each slime made will be packaged in a small container, keeping it all mess-free and off of carpets. The Arabic Kitchen

Come and enjoy some yummy Middle Eastern dishes while learning the classical Arabic dialect along the way! Together we will build our Arabic vocabulary, follow basic kitchen methods, and learn how to prepare healthy and delicious meals. Arabic culture and etiquette will also be introduced and practiced. Campers will experience cooking popular Arabic dishes such as hummus, laban drink, tabouli, mujaddarah, and many more! Course fee includes $30 materials fee.

Theater Through Time

Join us for an exciting new theater camp, where campers will do theater games, work on their improvisation and playwriting skills, and improve their acting. Campers will create different characters and bring them to life by learning different acting techniques from different areas of the world.
