Advanced Studio in Acrylics

Are you ready to take your painting journey to the next level? If so, this one-day intensive workshop will expand your painting practice in novel ways! We will tackle three entirely different paintings using distinctive methods and do a deep dive into complimentary colors, glazing, and tried-and-true brushwork techniques. There’s truly nothing more heartfelt than receiving a hand-stamped card made with love. Whether you’re new to stamping or a seasoned crafter, you’ll enjoy creating meaningful cards your friends and family will treasure. Come stamp, relax, and leave with cards ready to brighten someone’s day! In each class you will create three cards with envelopes. Please bring a pair of sharp scissors and adhesive, such as craft glue or a tape runner, with you to class. All levels are welcome in beginner classes. For intermediate and advanced classes, prior stamping knowledge is preferred, as the class builds on basic stamping skills. Amy's Basket

Using a wooden “D” handle and varying sizes of natural and dyed reed, this basket starts with an 8” square at the base and, with some adjustments to our weaving, gradually becomes narrower at the top before being finished off with a braided rim treatment. This basket is 12” tall with the handle.

Basic Watercolor

Join us to discover your own unique ways of using transparent watercolor paint, from free experimentation to more controlled approaches. Explore mixing and layering colors, while observing flowers, still life, and landscape. Learn color theory, pencil sketching, composition, drawing directly with a brush, and planning area of wash. Everyone is welcome, both first-time and longtime painters. Please bring whatever materials you may already have, or purchase the following supplies: a pan set of transparent watercolors; a pointed round watercolor brush (approximately size 6; handle will be shorter than an oil painting brush); a 9” x 12” pad of 140# watercolor paper; masking tape; pencil; two water containers; and two pieces of cardboard (slightly larger than size of paper).

Easy Soap Making

Felting Your Own Art Vessel

This class is an introduction to wet felting with a resist. Wet felting is a physical process that involves the wetting and pressing of wool fibers to create an entirely new piece of fiber. Wet felting on a resist allows for making 3D sculptural pieces, and the results are always stunning! Learn about the basics of wet felting and the layout of wool, embellishments and more to create a beautiful, unique piece of art. Students will need to bring an old bath towel to this class.

Introduction to Jewelry Making

Come enjoy a relaxing and creative experience, learn basic jewelry-making techniques, and leave with a handcrafted jewelry set you'll be proud to wear or give as a gift! Each participant will make one pair of earrings and one matching necklace using themed design kits. Introduction to Quilling

Making DIY Perfume

Join us to learn how to make perfume using natural ingredients and essential oils. Mixed Media Embroidery

Mixed media embroidery is an art form that combines traditional embroidery with a variety of other materials, techniques, and artistic media, such as fabric, paint, collage, beads, and even non-traditional objects, to create unique textures, visual interest, and dimension. This technique allows artists to move beyond conventional embroidery by integrating different fabrics, threads, and found objects to express personal stories and break boundaries, offering a broad spectrum of creative possibilities. In this class we will make one piece together as a group and then you are welcome to use supplies to create your own additional design if there is time.

Join us at Art in Mind Studio for a unique class painting and pouring resin to create a beautiful food-safe tabletop board! First, you will be walked through painting on a high-quality real wood charcuterie board. Then you will learn to pour resin to complete your piece. Please be aware that your piece will have to stay at the studio for one to two weeks for the resin to cure.

If you are totally new to sewing, the Sewing for Beginners class is a prerequisite for this class, where we will build on your beginner skills to make a simple boxy pouch project. These make great Christmas gifts when made with fabrics chosen with your recipient in mind! Bring your sewing machine, extension cord, manual, two fat quarters in coordinating fabric with matching thread, 12 - 16-inch zipper (bring the zipper foot for your machine), ruler, scissors, straight pins and a seam ripper with you to class.

Shoebox Basket

This rectangular basket is 10” long by 5” wide and 8” tall, woven on a wooden “D” handle. It is woven with natural and dyed reed and is finished off with an accent of Indian curls made from ash.

Learn how to make creamy, luxurious and nourishing whipped body butter using shea butter. This is a light, fluffy and non-greasy moisturizer, fragranced with essential oils, that your skin will love. Making your own allows you to customize this body butter to suit your skin. Students will take home four or five containers of their finished product and the recipe to make their own at home.
