October 6, 2026
October 13–17 Events Showcase Vision for Future, Expanded Regional Presence, Workforce Development Focus, Alumni and College Community Engagement
Hudson Valley Community College will mark a significant week in its history Oct. 13–17, with a series of events celebrating the college’s leadership, growth, and connection to the Capital Region.
The week comes as Hudson Valley continues a period of strong momentum. The college, now the largest community college in upstate New York, began the fall semester with its fifth consecutive year of enrollment growth. The events will also highlight several areas central to Hudson Valley’s mission and future, including workforce development, student success, community partnerships, the arts, and expanded engagement throughout the Capital Region.
Among the week’s milestones will be the formal installation of Dr. Michael Brophy as Hudson Valley Community College’s eighth president and the opening of the Massry Center for the Arts under Hudson Valley’s leadership. The Massry Center extends the college’s presence into Albany and is envisioned as a regional hub for arts, education, performance and community engagement. The college will also host a workforce development panel and presentation of its recent Capital Region workforce development survey findings at HVCC North.
