College’s 32nd Annual Golf Classic Raises Funds for Honors College

July 20, 2026

The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation held its 32nd annual Golf Classic, sponsored by U.W. Marx Construction Company, at the Country Club of Troy on Monday, July 13. The event was supported by nearly 50 sponsors and corporate partners and raised a record-breaking $113,305 to benefit the Honors College.

More than 150 people attended the Golf Classic, including faculty, staff and board members from the college and the Foundation; alumni; local business members, government officials, community stakeholders; and other donors and supporters. Students from the Honors College, with support from Honors College Director Lamyaa Hassib, volunteered their time to help contribute to the event’s success.

Established in 2023, the Honors College’s mission is to attract future scholars and develop leaders engaging in a rigorous curriculum with an emphasis on academics, service, leadership and diversity. Honors College students demonstrate intellectual curiosity, ambition, integrity and global citizenship. Each student selected to the Honors College receives a scholarship from the Foundation to support their educational expenses. The Honors College will welcome its fourth cohort of students in the fall of 2026.

“We are grateful to our presenting sponsor, U.W. Marx for their continued support as lead sponsor of this event,” said Foundation Executive Director Casey Crandall. “We’d also like to share our appreciation with all of our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and the staff at Country Club of Troy that made the day a resounding success. Thank you for supporting our students!”

The U.W. Marx Golf Classic is one of the Foundation’s leading annual fundraisers and community engagement events, and over three decades has raised more than $2 million to support Hudson Valley’s students.
