Award-winning Author Yangsze Choo Visits Campus April 15

New York Times bestselling author Yangsze Choowill visit Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday, April 15, to discuss her career and recent publications.
The event begins at 11 a.m. in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium, featuring a discussion followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase and reservations are requested.
Choo is the author of "The Ghost Bride,” a novel infused with Chinese folklore, romantic intrigue and supernatural elements. The book was later adapted into a Netflix Original series.
Her second novel, "The Night Tiger," explores themes of class, superstition, sibling rivalry and forbidden love. The novel was selected as a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick, an Amazon Spotlight Pick, and a Book of the Month Club choice. It was also named one of the best books of the year by USA Today and BookBub and was included in the Big Jubilee Read selection for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Her most recent novel, “The Fox Wife,” continues her exploration of the intersection between the human and spirit worlds. The book was named a Time Best Book of February 2024, a Book of the Month Club selection and an Oprah Daily Fresh Fiction pick. It was also a semifinalist for Jimmy Fallon’s book club on “The Tonight Show.”
A graduate of Harvard University, Choo lives in California with her family. She is an avid reader and food enthusiast, noting that her creative process is fueled by large quantities of dark chocolate.
