College Names New Leadership for Admissions, Facilities, Technology

Hudson Valley Community College has announced three key leadership appointments that will support enrollment growth and strengthen campus operations. The hirings include the promotion of one internal leader and the addition of two new members to the campus community.

Chris Dobert
Chris Dobert

Chris Dobert has been hired as Hudson Valley’s chief technology officer. A member of the college community since 2020, he brings leadership experience in enterprise information technology, digital transformation and cybersecurity. Most recently, Dobert served as co-interim chief technology officer, senior systems engineer, and systems and support manager at the college. He is an alumnus of Hudson Valley and the University at Albany, where he earned associate and bachelor’s degrees, respectively, in computer information systems.

Jim Eaton

Jim Eaton has joined Hudson Valley as director of admissions and recruitment. He brings more than 25 years of experience in enrollment management, communications and student recruitment, most recently at Siena University. Eaton has extensive experience in admissions leadership, marketing and data-informed recruitment strategy and is committed to creating accessible pathways to higher education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public communications from The College of Saint Rose and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from The Sage Colleges.

Dan Seaman
Dan Seaman

Dan Seaman has been appointed director of facilities. He brings decades of experience in higher education facilities management and oversees the operation, maintenance and repair of all campus buildings and grounds, as well as construction and renovation projects. Most recently, Seaman served as chief facilities officer at St. Lawrence University, where he led facilities operations spanning more than 2 million square feet and supervised a staff of 130 employees. He also held leadership roles in facilities management at Castleton State College, SUNY Adirondack and Finger Lakes Community College. Seaman earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Roberts Wesleyan College.
