February 16, 2024

Hudson Valley Community College is a finalist in the “Best College” category of the Times Union’s 2024 Best of the Capital Region annual readers’ choice poll.

More than 9,500 people nominated their local favorites in 100 different categories identified by the Times Union. Nominees were recently narrowed to five finalists per category, and voting to determine the winners opens Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, March 1.

In addition to “Best College,” Hudson Valley was named a finalist for the “Best Venue for Theater” (Maureen Stapleton Theatre) and “Best Theater Company” categories as well.

Those on campus have an opportunity to vote in-person in the Siek Campus Center. A designated voting table will be open each weekday during the voting period (Feb. 19 – March 1) from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

“A vote for Hudson Valley is a vote for accessible, high-quality education with real results! It also acknowledges the amazing opportunities we offer our students and the major impact we have on our surrounding communities and workforce partners,” President Roger Ramsammy said. “We’re excited to be competing for the best college title in the Times Union’s annual poll, and look forward to engaging our community throughout the competition.”

Those who vote are automatically entered in the Times Union’s $1,000 prize giveaway. For more details about this year’s Best of the Capital Region Poll, visit the Times Union’s Best of 2024 webpage.
