New Payment Plan Offered for Tuition and Fees

June 20, 2018

Hudson Valley Community College this week launched a new, student-friendly payment plan for tuition and fees that will be in effect starting with payments for the Fall 2018 semester. College officials hope a reduced initial payment will allow students to enroll in more courses.

The payment plan, offered in conjunction with college partner Nelnet, requires that students pay a $50 fee along with 25 percent of the semester's tuition and fee balance in order to be considered "paid" and enrolled for the term.

Also new is the ability for students to designate authorized payers for their account, making the experience easier for parents, guardians and other family members to make payments on behalf of a student.

Authorized financial aid awards, scholarships and third party sponsorships will be applied and remaining payments will be automatically billed or withdrawn from the credit card, checking, or savings account designated by the student on the tenth of each month through the final payment due date. The final payment due date for the fall 2018 term is November 13.

"Our hope is that this new payment plan will provide more fiscal flexibility for students," said College Bursar Michael Radzyminski. "Students will set up their payment plan online. We are encouraging them to sign up as early as possible since the required monthly payment will be lower based on the number of months remaining until the final payment deadline."

More information about the new payment plan can be found by contacting the Cashier's Office at cashier@hvcc.edu or (518) 629-4504.
