Neli Tirado, dancer, and José Moreno, vocalist/percussionist, are special guests.

Jonathan “Juanito” Pascual, an internationally-recognized guitarist who performs traditional and contemporary flamenco with influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead to Miles Davis and J.S. Bach, will present a concert at noon on Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. Flamenco dancer Neli Tirado and José Moreno, vocalist and percussionist, both from New York City, join Pascual for this event that is free to the public. No reservations are required.

Born in Minneapolis, Juanito Pascual is recognized in both Spain and the United States as a unique and creative flamenco and jazz performer. He has released three critically-acclaimed albums, including “Cosas en Común” that features all original flamenco compositions. Pascual will have just returned from the 2023 Havana Jazz Festival in Cuba when he appears at HVCC. He’s also performed with TEDx Nashville, an international tour, and since moving to Los Angeles, often performs on feature film scores. A gifted teacher, Pascual regularly hosts workshops in the United States, the Middle East, Europe and Central America. In 2011, his first method book was published, The Total Flamenco Guitarist (Alfred Press). Pascual performed a virtual concert for an HVCC audience in Fall 2020.

Pascual opens the Spring 2023 performance series offered by the college’s Cultural Affairs Program.
