Alycia Courter Named Executive Director of Faculty Student Association

Alycia CourterAlycia Courter, who has served the college's Faculty Student Association (FSA) for nearly 20 years has been named the new FSA Executive Director. Her appointment was approved at the January meeting of the Faculty Student Association Board of Directors.

Courter started working at the FSA as a part-time student worker and has held positions with increasing responsibility, including, most recently, several years as associate director. Prior to that, she was assistant director, assistant for financial analysis and administrative assistant.

She received her associate degree in accounting from Hudson Valley Community College and then continued her education at the University at Albany, where she earned her B.S. in accounting and M.B.A.

Courter succeeds Ann Carrozza, who initially hired her as a student worker. Carrozza will retire this year after 28 years of service to the FSA.

The FSA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that runs auxiliary services on the Hudson Valley campus. The organization reinvests its funds to make improvements and support initiatives which benefit the entire Hudson Valley community. The FSA oversees the following departments: Viking's Cove Bookstore, Cultural Affairs, Viking Child Care Center, Food Service, Intercollegiate Athletics and Student Activities.
