Conway Ice Rink Offers Recreational Skating for the Public

The Conway Ice Rink at Hudson Valley Community College opens for the 2015-16 season on Saturday, Oct. 31. Admission is free on opening weekend. The 18,000 square foot rink, located in the McDonough Sports Complex, offers recreational skating for all ages from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Admission rates are $2 for children 2 to 17 years old; $2 for seniors (60+); and $3 for adults. There is a $1 per person discount for a group of ten or more with advance notice. Quality skate rentals at $3 each are available for toddlers through adults.

A credit-bearing class for beginning and intermediate skaters is offered by the college on weekday mornings. Outside instructors provide evening and weekend lessons at the rink. Call (518) 629-7372 for college lessons and (518) 629-4829 for outside lessons.

The season runs through Sunday, March 6, 2016. The rink is closed Thursday, Nov. 26; Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; Thursday, Dec. 31; and Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.

It will be open extended hours during the holiday week, Monday, Dec. 28 through Wednesday, Dec. 30, from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. each day.
