ASAP: Student Support Program Still Accepting Fall Enrollees

August 6, 2025

Are you a prospective, accepted or returning Hudson Valley Community College student who could use a little academic and financial support? The ASAP program might be a perfect for you.

In 2024, the college joined 12 other SUNY two-year colleges to launch ASAP, which is aimed at significantly boosting college completion rates and helping students identify career pathways.

The program is modeled on a highly successful program first created at the City University of New York (CUNY) over a decade ago. ASAP is one of CUNY’s most successful retention and degree completion initiatives, with students in the program graduating at a rate more than double that of similar students.

The college’s ASAP office is offering information sessions and the chance to learn more about the benefits of the program to incoming and returning students. Certain eligibility requirements apply to the program and not all academic programs are covered by ASAP. For more details about information sessions and eligibility, visit the ASAP website.

ASAP is designed to be a comprehensive wrap-around program for students that includes a dedicated academic advisor, access to academic coaching and career planning services and even access to outside community services, if necessary. Students in the program also receive a financial benefit if they successfully remain in the program. Textbook and student fee assistance and a monthly monetary stipend for eight months of the year will be provided to those who continue in the program.
