Tara Fracalossi is an artist, professor and founding director of the Teaching Gallery at Hudson Valley Community College

Tara Facalossi headshotTeaching Gallery Director Tara Fracalossi, is an associate professor in the department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media and artist, born in Jersey City, New Jersey and grew up on the Jersey Shore. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University at Albany and a BA in Studio Art from the University of Vermont. She also attended Syracuse University in Florence Italy.

Her work has been exhibited at Spring Break Art Fair, NY; Smack Mellon, Brooklyn; the Center for Book Arts, NY; Masters&Pelavin, NY; the Cyprian Majernik Gallery, Bratislava, Slovakia; Kingsgate Gallery, London; the Kunsthalle Exnergasse, WUK, Vienna, Austria; Fotofest, Houston, TX; the Hyde Collection Museum, Glens Falls; Saratoga Arts, Saratoga; and the Storefront Artists' Project, Pittsfield, Ma. Her work is represented by Masters Projects of New York.

A recipient of two Photographer's Fund Fellowships from the Center for Photography at Woodstock, as well as several Special Opportunity Stipend grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Fracalossi lives and works in Kinderhook, NY.
