Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers Bring Hot NYC Jazz, Blues and Western Swing to College

February 11, 2019

Sweet Megg and The Wayfarers band

Winter blues take on a new meaning on Friday, Feb. 15 when Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers present a noontime concert in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium on the Troy campus. All are welcome to attend the noon to 1 p.m. performance; admission is free.

NYC-based Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers transport audiences with music that seamlessly mixes elements of New Orleans Swing, Harlem Swing, Parisian Cabaret and Gut Bucket Blues. Sweet Megg imbues each song with a blend of melancholy and euphoria, saxophonist Ryan Weisheit channels late, great sax players like Sidney Bechet and Charlie Parker, and with the remaining Wayfarers, leave no doubt that true jazz is alive and well.
