Hudson Valley Community College enrolls more than 12,000 students annually, and our knowledgeable admissions counselors are available to help you with the admissions process every step of the way.

Anyone applying for admission at Hudson Valley must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • You must be a high school graduate, or
  • possess a high school equivalency diploma, or
  • meet the criteria listed in the 24 Credit Hour Program.

Each academic program has its own program entrance requirements. Hudson Valley has four academic schools: School of Business; School of Engineering and Industrial Technologies; School of Health Sciences; and School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

You must provide proof of having satisfactorily completed the high school courses that are required for the curriculum to which you are applying. Appropriate post-high school courses may be substituted if approved by the Admissions Office. You also must provide proof that you are physically qualified to meet the requirements of the curriculum you have chosen.

Physician AssistantStudents may have special circumstances that will affect their admission to Hudson Valley.

24 Credit Hour Program
This program allows for the granting of a high school equivalency diploma based on earned college credit.

Early Admissions Program
If you have completed 11th grade with an overall average of 80 or better, you may benefit from enrolling at Hudson Valley to begin your college classes early. Applicants who meet the requirements will be considered for full-time admission.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
The EOP provides assistance to students whose educational and economic circumstances threaten to limit their opportunities.

Dental Hygiene Applicants
Admission to this program is competitive and has a unique set of guidelines. Your complete application for admission must be on file with the Admissions Office no later than Feb. 1.

Nursing Applicants
Admission to this program is competitive and has a unique set of guidelines. Your complete application for admission must be on file with the Admissions Office no later than Feb. 1.

Radiologic Technology Applicants
Admission to this program is competitive and has a unique set of guidelines. Your complete application for admission must be on file with the Admissions Office no later than Feb. 1.
