Registration Begins
- Returning and Transfer Students: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026
- New Students: Monday, Nov. 2, 2026
Certificate of Residence Requirement
Certificates must be dated no sooner than 60 days prior to the date you register for classes, and no later than 30 days after the start of classes. Counties are required to issue and honor certificates within this time frame. After 30 days from the start of classes, most counties will no longer issue certificates, and the out-of-state charge becomes the student's responsibility.
Billing Dates
Bills will be mailed to the student's permanent address on file and emailed to the student's HVCC email address. Bills continue to be emailed nightly except on: Dec. 10, Dec. 23 and Jan. 4.
- Bills Mailed: Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18, Dec. 2
Payment Information
For students who schedule classes on or before Thursday, Dec. 10, payment must be satisfied by 5 p.m. on Dec. 10. Payment is satisfied by:
- Payment in full
- Enrollment in the payment plan via WIReD
- Submission of a Financial Responsibility Statement (after consultation with Financial Aid)
Students should check the My Enrollment Checklist in WIReD to verify payment status. All registration activity ceases at the close of business on the day of a schedule drop and reopens the next business day.
Non-Matriculated Student Registration
Non-matriculated students may register, seek advisement and obtain an AVN through the Office of Student Outreach, Advisement and Retention. The office is located in Guenther Enrollment Services Center, Suite 231 and can be reached at (518) 629-7219 or coned@hvcc.edu.
Drops for Non-Payment
Students who have not completed payment by the deadlines noted will be dropped for non-payment. Students may seek to re-register into the dropped courses by contacting the Registrar's Office at registrar@hvcc.edu or by working with an Academic Advisor.
Add/Drop/Final Registration Period
- Registered students may adjust days and times during this period (not via WIReD).
- The Registrar's Office can adjust only days and times; all other changes must be done by an Academic Advisor.
- Students registering for the first time or re-registering after being dropped for non-payment during this period, must complete a Financial Responsibility Statement to confirm registration.
- Once the add/drop/final registration period ends for each part of term, students can no longer register for classes for that part of term or enter classes late.
Refunds
The effective date of a drop/withdrawal is the date an email request or completed form is received by the Registrar's Office. This effective date is used for refund calculation. If the college is closed, students may email registrar@hvcc.edu from their HVCC email account to request a drop/withdrawal. Refunds follow published dates and deadlines and are issued by the Cashier's Office. Questions related to refunds should be addressed to the Cashier's Office at cashier@hvcc.edu or (518) 629-4504.
Course Audits for Senior Citizens (ZSR)
Hudson Valley Community College offers senior citizens aged 60 or older the opportunity to audit credit-bearing courses at no tuition charge; students are responsible for fees. College credit will not be granted for courses that are audited. Registration is based on space availability and occurs the Friday prior to each course's start date. The Arts Center courses may be audited, but students must contact the Center directly. Students who initially register as non-matriculated may not later change to senior citizen status.
