Welcome! Hudson Valley Community College offers international students an excellent, affordable education at one of the largest community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
The college is located in Troy, New York, northeast of the state capital city of Albany. Students from more than 40 different countries study at Hudson Valley, adding to an already incredibly diverse student body. Important Update on Federal Regulations for International Students
A new federal rule, commonly referred to as the "Final Rule," has been published and is scheduled to take effect Sept. 15, 2026.
The rule replaces Duration of Status (D/S) with fixed admission periods for student and exchange visitor visa holders in the United States. It also updates regulations related to educational objectives, including requirements for transfers, changes of major and changes in degree level.
