Pathways to the Prize: A Town Hall Discussion With Nobel Laureate Omar Yaghi
Dr. Omar M. Yaghi, 2025 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, returns to his alma mater for a free town hall discussion open to the college community and the public.

An internationally renowned chemist and professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Yaghi was awarded the Nobel Prize for his groundbreaking work in developing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)—porous materials with transformative applications in clean energy, environmental sustainability and water harvesting.
From a young immigrant studying in the Capital Region to achieving the world’s highest honors in science, his journey reflects the power of education, perseverance and possibility. Join us as we celebrate a scholar whose global impact began at Hudson Valley Community College.
