Investing Ahead: Eight Rules for Confident Investing with Thomas Curran
HVCC welcomes Thomas Curran to campus as part of its Voices: A Library Lecture Series.
Between taxes, inflation, and everyday expenses, many people feel there’s nothing left to invest. In his talk at HVCC, Tom Curran will explain why that doesn’t have to be the case— and how that mindset can be changed. He will explore not only financial strategy but also the emotional intelligence behind money management, emphasizing that if handling finances were purely logical, most people would already be secure. For Tom, emotion remains the great equalizer in every financial decision.
Tom will discuss insights from his book Investing Ahead, where he outlines eight investment rules—his trademark “Curranisms”—that have helped him and his clients build lasting wealth. He will describe how to view money differently: not for what it’s worth today, but for the future it can create.
He will also discuss where Wall Street has gone wrong and how investors can take a better path. Most importantly, Tom will show how applying his eight rules can help people begin investing ahead—and set the stage for a stronger, more secure financial future.
Tom is an author, UPenn Wharton Fellow, and CEO of Curran Wealth Management. He is also the founder of the Curran Foundation for Financial Education, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals make informed decisions about their financial futures. He hosts the Investing Ahead Podcast, inspired by his Amazon Bestselling book, Investing Ahead: Eight Essentials for Achieving Financial Security.
A graduate of Temple University, Tom earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and was a Fels Fellow at Penn’s Fels Institute of Local and State Government. Above all, he is a passionate investor committed to empowering others to achieve financial confidence and security.
