Five new academic programs will be offered at Hudson Valley Community
College beginning in the Fall 2010 term. New certificate programs in
Alternative Fuels, Disability Studies, Digital Media and Wind Technician
as well as an associate degree in Physical Sciences will be offered. Read

After two star-studded seasons at Hudson Valley, Albany native Ramel Alexander
is set to take his game to yet another level. The two-time Region III and
Mountain Valley first teamer Monday signed his national letter of intent
to play basketball for Division II Bloomfield College in New Jersey on a
full athletics scholarship. Read
Students Can Get a Jump Start
High school students finishing their sophomore or junior years this
spring can now register for college-level courses offered at Troy High
School this summer.
The classes will run for six weeks, from Tuesday, July 6 through Friday,
Aug. 13. Classes will run five days a week. For a list of course
descriptions and exact class times, please visit www.hvcc.edu/jumpstart.
Students must register by Thursday, June 24.
Class In History of College
Hudson Valley Community College celebrated its 56th commencement with
2,020 students eligible to participate, the largest class in the history
of the college. The ceremony was held in the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium to
accommodate the record number of graduates and their guests. More...

Alumni Night at
the Tri-City ValleyCats
Reconnect with old friends – and make some new ones – when the Hudson
Valley Community College Alumni Association hosts an alumni night at the
Tri-City ValleyCats game on Sunday, June 27, 2010.
Game time is 5 p.m. at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on the Hudson Valley
campus where the 'Cats will take on the Class A affiliate of the Boston
Red Sox – Lowell Spinners.
Admission is $9, and includes a premium ticket to the game, a meal
voucher for a hot dog and soda; and a special alumni giveaway. By

the Annual Fund
As the college celebrates the largest graduating class in its history, we
would like to remind you that there is still time to support future
students by making a gift to the Annual
Fund. The annual fund campaign ends in conjunction with our fiscal
year on Aug. 31, 2010.
Past gifts to the Annual Fund have provided scholarships for students,
funded new equipment and technology on campus and supported campus
improvement projects. Last fiscal year, the Annual Fund raised more than
$160,000 to support these college initiatives.
All donations, in any amount, are welcomed and appreciated. You can even

Golf for a Good
Please join us for the 16th Annual Hudson Valley Community College
Foundation U.W. Marx, Inc. Golf Classic on Monday, July 19, 2010 at The
Country Club of Troy.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. The cost
is $215 before June 15 and $230 after June 15. The fee includes greens
fees, cart, foursome photo, lunch, reception, dinner, and awards
presentation. Tennis courts and pool facilities are open that day to
golfers and their guests.
