Why Hudson Valley?
Three questions for Tour Guide Portia Davis '08

Portia Davis
Biotechnology program, Class of 2008

A native of Ghana who graduated from South Colonie High School, Portia is one of a dozen students who volunteer as tour guides, sharing their knowledge of the campus and experiences with accepted and prospective students. Here, she shares some thoughts about her Hudson Valley experience.

Why did you enroll at Hudson Valley? I came to Hudson Valley because of the low cost and the small learning environment (the student-to-faculty ratio is 20:1).

What do you like best? I love Hudson Valley because of the resources that are available to students, including the Learning Assistance Center for tutoring for math and the Biology Study Center.

What is your goal? To earn my associate's degree in Biotechnology and continue my studies in pre-med at the University at Albany.

Portia or one of her fellow tour guides would love to show you around campus. Sign up for a tour today or RSVP so you and your parents can attend our Information Session on Saturday, March 3.

Hudson Valley Community College's mission is to provide dynamic, student-centered, comprehensive, and accessible educational opportunities that address the diverse needs of the community.
