COVID-19 Information & Updates

Hudson Valley Community College remains committed to following guidance from the CDC, SUNY and NYS Department of Health and protecting the health and safety of all those returning to campus.

Quick Facts

  • Several offices are accepting in-person visits. All offices and departments are offering services remotely as well, and you are encouraged to take advantage of remote services when possible.
    • Appointments for in-person visits are encouraged and preferred; however, a limit number of walk-in visits will be accepted. 
    • Please contact the office you are interested in meeting with to see if an appointment is available or to find out how you can access services remotely.
  • All individuals must complete the health screening process prior to being admitted to campus each day, as required by New York State.
  • In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the college has begun conducting pooled surveillance testing.
  • The campus is maintaining a density of 50% or less, following NYForward guidelines, and the majority of fall classes are being held online or remotely
  • Face masks or coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required to be worn at all times in shared spaces, including classrooms and labs, and while in the presence of others on campus - see Face Mask and Glove Protocols (PDF).
  • Practice social distancing and maintain six feet of distance from others at all times - see Social Distancing and Personal Hygiene Protocols (PDF).
  • In addition to enhanced cleaning and disinfection being routinely performed, all employees and students are requested to frequently disinfect high-touch surfaces before and after using them (wipes will be provided) - see Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures (PDF).
  • The Williams Access Road to campus will be closed for the fall semester as well as the access point from Williams Road to Cogan Hall. North Drive will be closed Monday - Friday, 7 - 11 a.m. The Albany Center for Education (ACE) is closed at this time.
  • A digital visitor log is in place to assist the Rensselaer County Department of Health with contact tracing in the event of a COVID-19 exposure.

These policies apply to the college’s main campus, as well as TEC-SMART and college facilities on Jordan Road and will be in effect until New York State guidance changes.  Any updates will be communicated to the college community as we are made aware of them.
