File Your TAP Application

Full-Time Students

The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (NYSHESC) administers the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). TAP is a grant and does not have to be repaid.

New York State residents who complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) electronically at www.fafsa.gov will be able to link to an online TAP application at www.tapweb.org. You will establish a user ID and PIN in order to apply or make changes, as needed.

If you did not complete your FAFSA online, you will be sent an e-mail or postcard with instructions for completing the online TAP application.

The TAP application deadline is June 30 of the academic year for which aid is sought. (example: The 2013-2014 deadline is June 30, 2014.)

Part-Time Students

APTS

The New York State Aid For Part-Time Study Program (APTS) is a financial aid grant for part-time students meeting residence, income, academic, or other requirements, as established by state law.

Applications are available at the Mastrangelo Financial Aid Center or can be downloaded here. Completed APTS applications should be submitted to the Mastrangelo Financial Aid Center no later than the published deadline. Students are notified of their awards by the tenth week of the semester.

Part-Time TAP

Part-time students at approved schools in New York State who were first-time, full-time freshmen in 2006-2007 or after may be eligible for Part-Time TAP to help them pay for college.

To apply, complete and submit the FAFSA and TAP applications and follow the instructions provided.

Please contact the Mastrangelo Financial Aid Center for guidance on whether you should apply for APTS or Part-Time TAP.
