Viking Novel Writing Month
Calling all creative writers! HVCC students, faculty and staff are invited to take on the challenge of writing a novel this February. Whether you’re working on a novel, memoir, short stories or something in between, all are welcome.
Viking Novel Writing Month kicks off on Friday, Feb. 6, from 9–10:30 a.m. in MRV 235. The kickoff session will cover strategies for writing a novel in one month, introduce writing prompts and offer time and space to work on your project.
Session Schedule
Sessions meet Fridays during February from 9–10:30 a.m. in MRV 235 and include writing prompts, resource sharing, community building and dedicated writing time.
- Feb. 6 – Kickoff & Information Session: Plotting Your Novel
- Feb. 13 – Write-In Session: World Building—Setting
- Feb. 20 – Write-In Session: Characterization
- Feb. 27 – Write-In Session: Revision
