Overview

The Chemical Dependency Counseling Program is part of the Human Services Department. This program prepares students to enter the field of alcoholism and drug treatment. Graduates of this program receive an A.A.S. degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling and many of our students assume professional counselor positions in treatment facilities throughout the Capital District and New York State. The curriculum has been designed to meet application requirements for the Credential in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC). This credential is administered by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), provider number 0103.
