This certificate program was designed for incoming students who already have a current NYS EMT card and one year of EMT experience. The college also offers an Paramedic A.A.S. degree program for those with little or no background in the field.

Successful completion of the courses in this program allows you to take the New York State Department of Health and National Registry of EMT's certifying examinations at the Paramedic level.

Paramedics interact with critically ill and injured patients and administer medication for emergencies ranging from heart attacks to emergency childbirths. Most professional firefighters in the region also must obtain EMT-P.

This academic program is primarily designed for those who wish to enter the workforce immediately following graduation.

NOTE: Those applying to this program need to complete a supplemental application in addition to the main application for admission.

This program is offered by the Cardiorespiratory and Emergency Medicine Department.
