Graduation application deadline
IMPORTANT: Graduating students must submit a completed degree/certificate application to the Registrar's Office by 5 p.m. Friday, March 23 to be eligible to participate in Commencement.

Wednesday, May 2 – Friday, May 4

Cap, gown and ticket pickup in the Siek Campus Center room 204
Wednesday, May 2: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday, May 3: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday, May 4: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pre-order your cap and gown (regalia): Friday, March 23 - Thursday, April 19
To receive your tickets, cap and gown: Pre-ordered regalia should be picked up during the times noted above. Complete and sign this form. Bring it with your valid student ID, driver's license or other valid photo ID to the Campus Center, Room 204 on one of the distribution dates.

Monday, May 7

Commencement Information Session: 2 p.m. in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre
Graduating students, faculty and staff are invited to attend an optional information session to learn more about commencement activities.

Student Honors and Awards Ceremony Information Session: 3 p.m. in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre
Those participating in the Student Honors and Awards Ceremony may attend this optional information session.

Friday, May 11

Student Honors and Awards Ceremony: 6 - 8 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex
This ceremony recognizes the college's highest achieving graduates who have earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or above, as well as special award recipients. Invited students, their guests, and faculty and staff may attend. Students must wear their academic honors regalia and check in by 5 p.m. at the Conway Ice Rink in the McDonough Sports Complex. Guests should arrive prior to the start of the 6 p.m. ceremony and be seated in the field house. There is no limit to the number of guests who may attend. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. Call (518) 629-7307 for more information.

Saturday, May 12

64th Annual Commencement Ceremony in the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium
Doors open to family/guests at 7:30 a.m.
Graduates assemble in the McDonough Sports Complex field house at 7:30 a.m.
Procession begins at 8:45 a.m.

Post-Commencement Celebration: 11:30 a.m. in the Student Pavilion
Graduates and guests are invited to attend a reception immediately following the Commencement ceremony.

CommencementAbout Commencement

The college's Commencement ceremony will highlight the diverse and remarkable achievements of approximately 2,000 Hudson Valley Community College graduates.

Seating will be organized by division (Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences). Each graduate will be individually announced and congratulated by President Drew Matonak. Graduates must then return to their seats for the duration of the ceremony.
