Criminal Justice, Forensic Science and Public Administration

Our academic advisors assist students that are enrolled in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science and Public Administration Department programs with scheduling, adding or dropping a course and planning for their academic future. Academic advisors also are a good place to start when you're not sure who you need to talk to about a problem or question and can assist you in identifying and communicating with other offices at the college.

Advisement & Course Registration

New Students

All new students enrolled in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science and Public Administration Department programs need to schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor to select their courses for the first semester. Make a new student advisement appointment online.

New students also are required to attend New Student Orientation prior to the start of classes, either before or after their academic advisement appointment.

Current and Transfer Students

It is recommended that students receive advisement prior to the opening of course registration.

Day and evening students should contact the department at (518) 629-7342 to schedule an advisement appointment.

Distance learning (online) students should email Howie Bancroft at h.bancroft@hvcc.edu using your HVCC email account.

Day and evening students are responsible:

  • To make their schedule advisement appointment on time.
  • To come prepared with your completed and signed academic planning sheet

Academic Planning Sheets

Students should complete the appropriate academic planning sheet below and bring it to their advisement appointment.
