Brennan comes to the post from SUNY Delhi, where he had served as CIO since 2010. Prior to that, he was director of information technology at The Sage Colleges for three years. He has been very active in several SUNY organizations, having served on the executive boards of the SUNY Council of Chief Information Officers and Computing Officers Association.
Brennan also authored a chapter in the SUNY-wide five-year strategic plan that outlines how open-source technology could reduce vendor dependence, increase service levels and reduce operating costs by an estimated $5 million annually across all 64 campuses.
“With Jon’s background and experience, he is well-positioned to lead our information technology team at Hudson Valley,” said President Drew Matonak. “Technology is playing an increasingly important role in how higher education is delivered, and I’m confident that Jon has the tools to help us remain a leader in this area.”
Brennan earned a bachelor of science in networks and system administration at The Sage Colleges and a master of education in instructional technology from Post University.
