Troy Resident Erin Hatter Receives SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service

Erin Hatter of Troy was recently honored with the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
Hatter, Hudson Valley Community College’s scheduling officer, is charged with setting course schedules and class locations across campus and at the college’s off-campus locations. She was recognized for her ability to problem-solve and effectively and efficiently find solutions to a wide range of issues related to her position. Hatter also is very active on campus, serving as co-chair of the Staff Development Day and on the Commencement Committee and Women’s Enterprise@HVCC. She also is an adjunct faculty member, teaching psychology and the first semester college forum course.
Ten additional faculty and staff members of the Troy college were named recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence for 2015. Instituted in 1972 by the State University of New York, the Chancellor's Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the university by dedicated professionals. Since its inception, 154 faculty and staff members from Hudson Valley Community College have received the Chancellor's Award.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 75 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
