Selkirk resident honored at Hudson Valley Community College

Image of Pauline BushPauline Bush of Selkirk, a recent Human Services program graduate at Hudson Valley Community College, was honored with the President's Award, one of the highest honors given to a student at the college. The award is given to a member of the graduating class who has made significant contributions to the college and community through volunteer and extracurricular activities.

Bush graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in the spring. She plans on continuing her education and hopes to obtain a master's degree in social work. She eventually hopes to work with troubled adolescents.

Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunities Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
