Rensselaer Student Amy Wolfe Honored by Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Amy Wolfe of Rensselaer, a 2007 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Dental Hygiene program, was recently honored by the college.

Wolfe received the President’s Award, which honors a student from the college’s Class of 2007 who has shown excellent academic progress combined with outstanding community service.

She also was the recipient of several honors given by her department: the Anne F. Hines Award and the Catskill Mountain Dental Hygienists Grayce Grant Memorial Award.

Wolfe plans to enter the dental hygiene field and eventually return to school for her bachelor’s degree. She was a high honor student at Hudson Valley and participated in many outreach activities sponsored by her department.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate’s degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and also sponsors an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
