Nancy H. Goody
Nancy H. Goody of Albany has been named director of annual giving for the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation.

Goody will oversee charitable annual giving campaigns, including the college's Annual Fund, for the Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable corporation formed in 1983 to philanthropically support the college's mission.

Gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted and allow the college to fund unmet needs and seize unexpected opportunities; gifts to the Annual Fund have benefited the college's technology needs, student scholarships, campus beautification efforts and services for disabled students. In 2004-05, gifts to the Annual Fund totaled more than $200,000.

Goody has more than a decade of experience in development and fundraising, and comes to Hudson Valley from the Albany Symphony Orchestra, where she served as director of development. Prior to that, she served as vice president of development at Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood. She also has worked in development and public relations at the Mohonk Preserve in New Paltz and the Paleontological Research Institution in Ithaca.

She has a bachelor's degree in geography from Clark University in Worcester, Mass., and a master's degree in historic preservation from Columbia University. Goody and her husband, Gregory Bell, live in Albany.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
