Karen L. Marbot Appointed Chairperson for Accounting, Marketing at Hudson Valley Community College

Karen L. Marbot of Valley Falls is the new department chairperson for the Accounting and Marketing programs at Hudson Valley Community College. In her new position, she also will oversee the Business Advisement Center at the college.

Marbot has been a full-time faculty member at the college since 2001. She also is an adjunct instructor at Siena College. Marbot received a bachelor's degree and a master's in business administration from Russell Sage College. A practicing attorney in the field of trusts, estates and elder law, she received her law degree from Albany Law School.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
