FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Friday, February 28, 2003

The Imago Dance Theatre will present Frogz at Hudson Valley Community College on March 5. One of the feature events of Hudson Valley's cultural affairs' series "Alive: A Celebration of the Arts and Humanities," Frogz will be performed in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre at 7 p.m. Admission to the show is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and high school students, and free for Hudson Valley students.

Frogz, the company's premier piece, is considered a delightful experimentation of dance, theater and masque. The viewer will see escaped penguins, spooky crocodiles, mischievous strings, lots of paper, and of course, frogs. The show opened in 2000 at the New Victory Theater on Broadway in New York City and returned to Broadway in 2002.

The Imago Dance Theatre tours internationally while also producing a season at its home base in Portland, Oregon. The New York Times called its production of the Frogz "a mastery of mime, dance, and acrobatics."

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning.
