Conflict Resolution Training

Hudson Valley Community College will host a "Controversial Issues Process" training program for faculty, students and staff members from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. A National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) event, the program is designed to assist Hudson Valley's employees in the handling of conflicts through a structured conflict-resolution process.

The Controversial Issues Process training program will take place on the second floor of the Siek Campus Center, in the Faculty Staff Conference room. It is free for faculty, students and staff, and participants will learn skills that can be applied when dealing with any sort of disagreement.

Hudson Valley regularly holds NCBI events, and the college's involvement with NCBI is aimed at enhancing diversity awareness on campus.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certification programs in four academic divisions: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Business; as well as programs run through the Educational Opportunity Center offering certification programs in workforce and academic preparation. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has graduated more than 55,000 students, and nearly 75 percent of those graduates live in the Capital Region.
