Hudson Valley is among six SUNY institutions listed as top users of HarpWeek for the 2001 Calendar Year.

HarpWeek is a full-text, full-image electronic version of Harpers Weekly for the Civil War period, and can be accessed directly as one of many electronic databases available through Hudson Valley's Marvin Library.

Of 100 top HarpWeek users, Hudson Valley ranked 25th, just behind University at Buffalo and well ahead of University at Albany, ranked number 92.

Digital access to historic accounts and images of the Civil War period offers extensive research opportunities for Hudson Valley's students and faculty.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
