Schenectady Resident H. Jane Wilson Honored At Hudson Valley Community College

H. Jane Wilson of Schenectady, a 2002 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College's Nursing program, recently was honored by the college.
Wilson received the Helen M. Slavin Award for Professional in Nursing, which is given to the graduating Nursing student who has demonstrated the highest degree of clinical excellence.
A President's List student, Wilson has served as a volunteer at the Schenectady City Mission, and she has assisted with blood drives at Hudson Valley. Wilson, who was a "Who's Who Among Students in American Junior College" honoree, is transferring to SUNY Utica/Rome to pursue a bachelor's degree in Nursing. She also works at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
