Selkirk Resident Carla M. Miles Honored At Hudson Valley Community College

Carla M. Miles of Selkirk, a 2002 graduate from Hudson Valley Community College's Early Childhood program, recently was honored by the college.
Miles received the Early Childhood Award for Academic Excellence.
Miles, who is transferring to The College of Saint Rose to pursue a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, was a Dean's and President's List student at Hudson Valley. She served as a secretary for the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and she received a Leadership Award and an Award for Service from Phi Theta Kappa.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
