Watervliet Resident Kristin Catalano Honored at Hudson Valley Community College

\"ImageKristin Catalano of Watervliet, a 2002 graduate from Hudson Valley Community College's Mortuary Science program, was given the Mortuary Science Award for Outstanding Achievement in Restorative Art.

The award is annually given to the graduating Mortuary Science program student who shows the greatest skill in the field of restorative art. Catalano was a dean's list student. She plans to earn her funeral directors license and then join the United States Navy.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
