Cricut© Crafting Basics
Whether you’re a creative pro or brand-new to DIY, Cricut© will help you make personalized, professional-quality projects with ease. Cricut© smart cutting machines allow you to create projects for home décor, parties and events, weddings, apparel and more. Learn how to use Cricut© Design Space™ software to find images, projects and fonts, and design your heart out. All great projects start with an idea – make yours come to life using your computer, tablet or smartphone! This course teaches students how to navigate Cricut© Design Space™ and provides a review of cut pieces for a summer-themed project and then assemble it. You will need your Hudson Valley username and password. Course fee includes $3 computer fee and $5 materials fee.

Cricut© Crafting Advanced
Cricut© smart cutting machines are an amazing tool to create beautiful crafts for home décor, parties and events, weddings, apparel and more. Navigating Cricut© Design Space™ is key to successful crafting with Cricut©. In this course, you will learn how to upload SVG, JPEG and PNG Files, and how to use the group, attach, weld, slice and contour features. You will also learn how to add score lines, print and cut, how to make knockout designs, and split level monograms in Cricut© Design Space™. Students will have an opportunity to cut and adhere an iron-on project using the Cricut© Easy Press™. You will need your Hudson Valley username and password. Course fee includes $3 computer fee and $10 materials fee.

Creativity with Pastels
This creative and engaging class will explore the use of a traditional medium (soft pastels) in new and creative ways. We want you to come to class to have fun. We will learn to layer, create value, contrast and texture. Please see the materials list for this class.

Board Art
Join us in creating a beautiful and unique board art project that reflects statements that are meaningful to you! You will learn techniques of painting on wood panels, including color wash & stenciling. You will be painting on 16” x 20” wood panel boards with several quote options, stencil shapes, and colors to choose from. Students must withdraw by 5/28 for a full refund.

Glass Etching
Have you ever wanted to learn how to personalize your glassware? Together, we will learn how to etch words on glass surfaces. We will practice on glasses and mason jars that you can take home that day. After this class, you won’t have to pay for expensive personalized glassware because you will have the skill to do it yourself. Class fee includes $10 materials fee.

A Lesson in Painting Translucent Light
Have you ever wondered how artists manage to capture light in glass and water so well it looks real? It’s an easy technique and you can learn it in this workshop! You’ll be seated in The Living Room Art Gallery located in Historic St. Agnes Cemetery in front of a 16-by-20 inch canvas and given step by step instruction in how to create a beautiful painting using fast drying, virtually odorless acrylic paint. Under the guidance of Noreen Powell, participants will create an image of clear glass vases of water holding lovely summer flowers. This class is perfect for painters of all skill levels. We will paint from 10 a.m. - noon and then break for lunch which promises to be a wonderful experience all by itself.

All materials including canvas, paint and brushes are provided. Course fee includes $95 materials fee.

Illusions Basket
We’ll learn to weave a medium sized rectangular basket on a wooden “D” swing handle using dyed and natural reed of varying sizes. We will enhance it with Indian curls to give the illusion of a reflection. Basket is approximately 12” long by 8” wide and 6” tall without the handle. Course fee includes $31 materials fee. Students should bring a measuring tape, a pencil, spring-type clothes pins, scissors and an old towel to class. Please see the materials list for this class.
