Hudson Valley Community College Celebrates New Dental Hygiene Clinic With Open House

Open House for Hudson Valley Community College's new Dental Hygiene Clinic. The clinic, one of the largest of its kind in the Northeastern United States, was completely re-outfitted during the past several months. It now includes 36 new dental units with computer capability, several new X-ray suites and a variety of other associated equipment.
Several other college health science programs - Sonography, Echocardiography, X-ray Technology and Respiratory Therapy - also will be demonstrating new laboratory equipment at the open house.
During the past year, approximately $2 million has been invested in new equipment for the college's School of Health Sciences.
Open house tours and demonstrations will run from 6:15 to 8 p.m. College President John Buono and Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Dr. Robert Hill III will speak at 6: 15 p.m. in the Fitzgibbons lobby.

The clinic is used to instruct the college's Dental Hygiene program students, and in doing so, also serves as a public dental health clinic. Each year, thousands of Capital Region residents are provided low-cost dental hygiene care through the clinic.
Hudson Valley Community College annually sends approximately 300 graduates into the Capital Region health care workforce, making it one of the largest health care training centers in the Capital Region.
